Sustainability – a matter of principle

We do not make any compromises on either economics or ecology.

“We are convinced that companies will only be able to operate successfully in the future if they act sustainably toward the environment and society. This is and will remain an indispensable element of our business philosophy,” says Joerg Hellwig, head of the Inorganic Pigments business unit at LANXESS.

As a market leader for inorganic pigments, LANXESS sees the sustainability of its products and processes as absolutely essential. Production processes have always been designed to conserve resources and preserve the environment – and to be safe and sustainable. They are also subject to constant improvement. They are based on technically complex and mature production processes that are subject to the same HSEQ directives regardless of where in the world they are put into practice. All production facilities are certified to DIN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and are regularly monitored. The latest in waste gas and wastewater treatment facilities at the synthesis sites help to avoid emissions wherever possible. If they cannot be avoided, then the harmful substances are removed using the most effective methods available.

For LANXESS Inorganic Pigments, however, sustainability is about much more than protecting the environment and safeguarding resources. The business unit is continuously expanding its capacities, developing innovations and optimizing processes. LANXESS Inorganic Pigments is investing in growth so that it can be a reliable partner to its customers in the long term.

Our customers can rest assured that they have a sustainable supplier in us. For us, economic and ecological sustainability go hand in hand.
